We are all going to “fall short” of the glory of God in our Christian lives…

But that is why Jesus died…to cover our “short fall” of living up to His perfect standards. But that is not to be an excuse for why we stay in sin or harbor sin in our lives. Those sins must be brought to the light of the throne of God and as we repent and confess our sin God is more than faithful to forgive it because ….that is what Jesus paid for on the cross. The judgment seat of Christ is where all will come to light as our life is fully accessed based on the deeds done in the body. The object of this judgment has to do with reward and loss of reward but not salvation (that we have in Christ). It is a sobering reminder to that it does matter how we live; that we cannot just come to the Lord and then “do our own thing” while occasionally throwin…g Him a few crumbs of attention every Sunday. Sin is a harsh taskmaster and we as Christians are not immune to those. Continual sin takes a in a direction and it sets a course for our life. If allowed to sin can make us a hypocrite in no time as the pride of life and the lusts of life rush in to replace our devotion to the Lord. We are told in the Word to guard our lips; our ears; our desires and to set our affections on things above and when if we do not it will just lead us astray and sin will become “lord” over us. To “walk in the Light” is to live in communion with God abiding in Him and His word and obeying His Commandments as a bi-product. May we this day live in light of eternity and recognize that sin is nothing to play around with and that even a baby rattler is poisonous beyond belief. May we not hold such to our chest but rather rush into the arms of He who is “the Light” and may we dwell there even this day.
